Rental Housing Task Force coming to Nelson

Those who provide and also live in rental housing are invited to a workshop in Nelson next week.

The Province’s Rental Housing Task Force is visiting 10 communities across BC this month, including Nelson next Thursday June 14.  It’s the only stop in the Kootenays.

The Task Force was created by Premier John Horgan to look at issues of security and fairness for renters and landlords. People from both groups are invited to attend the workshop to voice their perspectives and offer any ideas or solutions. There is limited space and you’re asked to register in advance. It runs from 6:00-9:00pm at the Front Room.

Meetings are also happening in Kelowna, Terrace, Victoria, Vancouver, and Prince George. Findings and recommendations will be reported in the fall. It’s the first review of residential tenancy laws in 16 years.
