Nelson dog walk area needs geotechnical assessment

The Nelson dog walk along the water front remains closed after flooding this spring. The city says public works crews have done initial assessments and found there was more erosion than originally thought. A geotechnical assessment will be needed to determine the level of repair which could include shoring up the banks with geo-fabric and large rocks if required. The dog walk will remain closed indefinitely from the Prestige Lakeside Resort to the west entrance near the Airport.
