City of Nelson 2017 Annual Report Presentation on Monday

The City of Nelson has come out with its 2017 Annual Report. It provides a recap of the City’s finances from the year before.  The City’s Chief Financial Officer Colin McClure says there were some big highlights.

McClure says the City has a number of revenue sources besides taxation that did well.

McClure says Nelson Hydro also plays a big part in that.

In 2018, the City’s return on its investment will be almost $2.8 million.

The City says these revenues are used to fund the general operations and without them, municipal taxes
would have to rise 32 per cent or services significantly reduced.

The report will be presented to council on Monday, which the public is welcome to attend.
