Helping to expand broadband service to rural centres

Regional Districts around the Columbia Basin need to help small internet service providers apply for a big chunk of federal dollars.
This from Rob Gay the Chair of the Regional Broadband Committee in anticipation of 300-million dollars from Industry Canada to expand broadband across rural communities.
Gay says they aim to help those small internet providers -including non-profits- secure 15 million dollars in broadband infrastructure to get the high speeds to rural homes.
That includes engineering planning and perhaps Regional Districts investing in wireless towers that they then lease to companies.
Columbia Basin Trust is a funding partner.
