Highway 3 re-open west of Creston

The Blazed Creek wildfire is currently estimated at over 5600 hectares in size. BC Wildfire Service says there are 10 firefighters, one helicopter and five pieces of heavy equipment on site.

The fire closed Highway 3 overnight and for part of this morning. It was re-opened to single lane alternating traffic today, however delays are excepted with the possibility of sudden closures. There are significant delays on the Kootenay Lake Ferry.
