Kootenay Lake school district: 2 election races

Thee Kootenay Lake school district will see races for two races for trustee seats on Oct. 20.

Three people are running for two seats in rural Creston: incumbents Cody Beebe and Rebecca Huscroft and newcomer Allan Gribbin.

There will also be a race for the seat representing Salmo, Taghum, and Blewett, between Susan Chew and Lance Gotzy. Incumbent Bob Wright did not file re-election papers.

The other seats have been filled by acclamation: Becky Coons in Creston, incumbent Lenora Trenaman on the East Shore and North Shore, incumbent Dawn Lang in Kaslo, incumbent Sharon Nazaroff in the Slocan Valley, incumbent Bill Maslechko in Nelson and Sheri Walsh, also in Nelson.

Walsh is a former trustee for the Slocan Valley. Former Nelson trustee Curtis Bendig resigned a few months ago to return to a teaching career.
