Trafalgar student hit by car

Nelson Police say a Trafalgar student was hit by a car when walking to the school on Wednesday from her home in Rosemont. Constable Matt Caldwell says it happened on Hall Mines Road. “I headed up there actually myself around 8:10am and we found a young lady laying on the ground and a lot of people stopping to help her out.”

Constable Caldwell doesn’t know the full extent of her injuries but says she had some abrasions on her face when he arrived.

Constable Caldwell says the driver remained on scene and has been co-operating with the investigation. He adds that Nelson is still a safe place to walk to school and that this is not a trend in the community.
