Nelson Council Candidate: Keith Page

Keith Page is one of the candidates running for Nelson City Council. He runs the Repair Factory on Vernon Street and has been an auxiliary firefighter for the past four years.

He says climate change response and affordability are big concerns for him, but he also feels it’s time to do his part for the community.

“It’s a matter of each of us stepping up and doing our civic duty and taking a turn at understanding the issues of our city and kind of steering things for the four years or eight years or whatever it happens to be. I think it’s important that people from my generation, I’m in my late 30’s, put our time in and understand the issues that face the city.”

He says being a member of the business community is also an important perspective on council.

“I think it offers an important perspective on how we take care of things, like the downtown, and how we approach problem solving and deal with accounting and keep things fiscally responsible.”

Page has lived in Nelson for the past 12 years.
