Trail ducks in row for Library/Museum borrowing

The Silver City has just about got its ducks in a row before residents vote on a proposed $6.2 million integrated library and museum.

CAO David Perehudoff says council has passed the legally required loan authorization bylaw that would allow the city to borrow the necessary funds for construction.

Residents will vote in the referendum as part of November’s municipal election.

If they support it – homeowners could face up to an $81 tax increase.

However, Perehudoff says through various avenues the City is trying to reduce the amount it borrows and therefore the impact on taxpayers.
