Kaslo mayor recalls nailbiter after 13-vote victory

The tightest race for mayor in region on election night was in Kaslo.

Suzan Hewat was re-elected mayor over former regional district director Andy Shadrack by 13 votes.

Hewat was in the room as the votes were being counted.

Hewat says she looks forward to completing several infrastructure projects in the next term, including

They include dike and sewer work and getting approval for the new liquid waste management plan.

She also wants to see work done at the airport and says grants are pending to improve the Kaslo Bay foreshore.
