The City of Nelson says some hydro projects are happening in a couple areas. The streets impacted are Observatory from Hall Mines Road to Josephine Street and the ally between Richards and Houston Streets.

Nelson Hydro has contracted Martech Electrical to change power poles, reconductor the transmission system, among other work.

Congestion from crews and equipment is anticipated, with disruptions to traffic and parking. The City says these disruptions will be handled with as much notification and signage as is practical. Residents will be notified of planned outages with hand-delivered notices and sandwich boards.

Work runs Monday to Thursday from 7:00am to 4:30pm until the end of December.
