Is the city of Nelson getting bang for taxpayers’ buck when it comes to publicly owned facilities and buildings?
That’s why they’ve completed the first step in a review of 21 sites – such as the civic complex, old museum, city parkade and 10th St college campus.
Mayor John Dooley says it has highlighted a lack of consistency and fairness on just what and how the city charges rent.
The city will move towards a more equitable rental scheme and standardized maintenance and operations.
Also council will consider if vacant properties should be sold off.
