Museum Mash returns in Nelson

The Touchstones Museum of Art and History in Nelson is hosting another Museum Mash this month. The popular event brings in all kinds of activities and performers including Drag Queen Chase Adams, clown Marya Folinsbee, dancer Slava Duval as well as crafts and workshops.

Touchstones Program Coordinator Stephanie Myers says it’s also a great opportunity to view the new exhibits.

“It’s a great way to get families and kids of all ages in the door and into the gallery and see our new shows that are opening up this Friday night, Lost Threads and 402 Anderson Street.”

Myers adds it’s a good idea to bring a lunch and stay for the day. It runs from 11:00 am to 3:00pm on Sunday, November 18. Museum Mash is supported by the Columbia Kootenay Cultural Alliance and CIBC Children’s Foundation which makes it free to attend.

Lost Thread is a group textiles exhibit and 402 Anderson Street: A History looks at the old building that use to house the museum. The launch is this Friday, November 9 from 7:00 to 9:00pm.
