Teacher -govt labour talks set for resumption

Labour talks between government negotiators and the BCTF are set to re-start Friday after a six week break-down and the all-out teachers strike.

And a local union rep is pleased to hear both parties are unlikely to be talking publicly.

Paul Boscariol the President of the Nelson and District Teachers Association says a media blackout is a good idea because once the parties starts accusing each other of saying one thing and another the actual bargaining goes nowhere..

Boscariol says teachers want schools to open September 2nd but the big question is whether government is willing to invest in public education.
