Regional tourism tax set for next 5 year term

The city of Nelson has joined Kaslo in approving another 5 year term for the special 2% tax that our regional accommodators charge.

The participating RDCK areas are expected to say yes too.

This revenue goes to the Nelson Kootenay Lake Tourism Society that markets and advertises our region far and wide.

Executive Director Dianna Ducs says things have gone well in their first five years.

The tax revenue is used to market our tourism to potential visitors in areas such as Edmonton, Calgary, Lethbridge, Okanagan, Spokane and Vancouver.
