Even if Trail voters decide in the referendum they want a pedestrian crossing over the river there’s no guarantee it’ll happen.
That’s because the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary has yet to decide if the much-needed sewer pipe crossing will indeed be a bridge.
So says Rossland mayor Greg Granstrom who notes his taxpayers are very concerned about the latest $7.5 million quote when the crossing could go under the river for less than half that.
Granstrom says the regional sewer committee has not negotiated the best crossing option and a recent meeting to do so was cancelled by the Trail representative.
