Soccerquest leaves sporting legacy

The man who developed indoor soccer in Nelson left a big mark on the sport and boosted the popularity of the city-owned building he was based in.

Dave Spendlove with Soccerquest says he’s sad to be leaving but it’s time to move on as he expands his business in other parts of BC and beyond.

Nelson Youth Soccer Association is buying the business and has secured a $350,000 loan from the city of Nelson for that.

The city figures it will benefit from profit-sharing on the future revenues at the arena as soccer users grow and they open it up to other indoor field sport opportunities.
