Trail,Rossland,Warfield to discuss sewer pedestrian crossing

The sewer committee of the RDKB – made up of Trail, Rossland and Warfield – will meet this afternoon.

Trail is expected to formally propose a fixed cost-sharing model that would see the three regional partners stump up $5.4 million for a regional pipe structure over the Columbia River.

Trail would pay the extra to add a pedestrian component to the bridge.

Trail is hoping to ease any cost-escalation concerns the other two partners may have because it’s not clear what the total bill will come in at.

Trail would absorb any escalation.

Rossland insists it wants a crossing that is most cost-effective and an under-river option or hanging pipe from the Victoria Street bridge may be better.
