The woman who died in the light aircraft crash near the Kokanee Springs golf course Saturday evening was 48 year old Jane Lavalee.
The Edmonton woman died at the scene when the Cessna -in which she was a passenger – clipped a tree after the pilot aborted a landing on the Crawford Bay air strip.
The pilot suffered serious injury.
Both were extricated from the burning plane by witnesses who were nearby.
