Warning from local SD chair re tentative teachers' contract

While he’s extremely happy to hear of a tentative deal in the BC education dispute the chair of the Kootenay Columbia school board is sounding a word of warning.

Darrel Ganzert says he expects government has come up with some more money for school districts to deal with local class size and composition issues.

But trustees hope there’s no catch.


The latest contract for CUPE support workers dictated that school boards find the money for wage increases …the funding did not come direct from government.
