CPR to face music on noisy train fall-out

A CP Rail representative will address Castlegar city council next month on their controversial change of train schedule that is keeping people up at night.

Councillor Sue Heaton-Sherstobitoff – who is one of the effected residents -says the community needs to come out October 6th and show their displeasure at the unannounced move.

The train now rumbles through the city in the dead of night blaring its horn-whistle.

CPR says it gave notice of the move to the mayor’s office but Heaton-Sherstobitoff says it’s not the city’s responsibility to get that word out to the public.

Meanwhile Celgar says the rail change was not made at their request and has created new challenges for them.
