Outdoor fire ban eased

The changing seasonal weather conditions have prompted the Ministry of Forests to ease the outdoor fire ban.

The public is now allowed to burn small material piles of up to 2-metres by 3-metres.

Areas of stubble and grass that are no bigger than point-2 of a hectare can also be burned.

Where local laws permit you can also set off fireworks and light a sky lantern or burning barrel.

However the Ministry is reminding the public to always have enough people, water and tools on hand to control a fire.
