Pedestrian Pipe Bridge deal agreed in Greater Trail

The long and often bitter dispute among the three regional sewer partners in Greater Trail is over.

A deal has been agreed meaning a pedestrian/sewer pipe bridge will be built over the Columbia River to replace the crumbling decommissioned one.

Chair of the RDKB Grace MacGregor made herself the temporary chair of the East End Sewer Committee of Trail, Rossland and Warfield to help break through the divisions.

She says all the players ultimately thought regionally.

The three partners will share proportionate costs of $4.2 million.

Total construction costs for the bridge are expected to be about $9 million and Trail alone will pay that $5 million extra.
