Castlegar council candidate challenges "frivolous" spending

Another candidate is running for Castlegar council next month with a focus on what he calls the frivolous spending on projects that aren’t needed.

John Phillips says he’s not happy with the big money spent on the Millenium Ponds and the infrastructure that was laid over the Kinnaird Bridge to the airport lands.

Phillips adds Castlegar council approved the Connors Road pathway near the Complex when he figures there is no demand for a walk/cycling path in that area.

He lives on Connors Road and says the traffic noise is worse now after trees were removed.

Fellow council candidate Bruno Tassone is also campaigning on similar issues.
