The Columbia Basin Trust is prepared to give money to local and regional internet service providers so broadband service can get to more local homes.
Aimee Ambrosone is the Chief Operating Officer of the trust’s Broadband Corporation.
She says they’ll help providers meet the 50-50 funding requirement in a major rural initiative being rolled out in January by the Feds.
ISP’s have until November 10th to contact the Trust with a plan on how they could expand their service.
The CBT is investing nearly $8 million to run the fibre optics across the Basin and Boundary.
