The police response to the Peter de Groot incident in Slocan last week has outraged his family.
They claim the initial response to their brother apparently shoving someone was way overboard.
Sister Danna spoke at a news conference in Vancouver Monday.
During the five day manhunt she questions why police wouldn’t accept her offer to reach out to her brother …who had mental troubles but was never violent.
Police allege de Groot shot at officers then fled to the forest.
Five days later a special unit shot and killed him in a cabin.
The family claims he was quote “executed” and they are considering legal action.
