Leonard Casley re-elected mayor of New Denver

New Denver mayor Leonard Casley has won a second term, beating former councillor Heather Fox 250 to 162 for the position.

Newcomer Casey Law topped the polls for council with 334 votes, followed by incumbent Colin Moss with 271, incumbent John Fyke with 224, and newcomer Danika Hammond with 224. Incumbent councillor Vern Gustafson missed the cut with 212.

Although Civic Info suggested an unprecedented turnout of 99.5 per cent, the village says it was actually 77 per cent, which was still the highest in the region by far.
