Managing current Trail downtown reality: council candidate

A candidate for Trail city council says they have to be realistic about attracting business.

Carol Dobie says the Silver City isn’t on a big highway and demographics have shifted to an older community in recent decades with a much smaller overall population.

She says she’s unhappy with the downtown trend and wants to boost interest in smaller cottage industries.


She says a delicatessen is an example of a small business that is a perfect fit for the downtown.

Dobie – who worked in human resources at Teck before retiring – is also well known for her work with the hospital auxiliaries.
