COVID cases at Kootenay Lake Hospital grow to 17

Interior Health says the number of COVID-19 cases in the medical unit at Kootenay Lake Hospital now stands at 17.

That’s up from 11 last week. The outbreak was declared New Year’s Day.

The health authority says precautions are in place including restrictions on visitors and enhanced cleaning and disinfection measures.

Another outbreak at the hospital in late August and early September saw eight cases.
