Smoke odour in Nelson is no cause for alarm

The smell of smoke across Nelson has been coming from a private property near Cottonwood Lake. 

According to a media release by Nelson Fire the smoke has been lingering in the valley, which has been blanketing the city for the majority of the day.

Fire Chief Jeff Hebert addressed the situation with the property owner, who is attempting to reduce the amount of smoke being caused by the fire.
