A conservation fund for three rural areas around Kootenay Lake will not mean more regulations.
This from the Director on the east shore Gary Jackman who thinks the idea of taxing homeowners $15 a year for ten years is a good initiative .
He says he hears unfounded concerns already about the Kootenay Lake Partnership and how development regulations will mount.
Jackman supports the referendum question being asked in Areas A,D and E next month.
He adds most people he speaks to are also behind the idea of funding local conservation projects aimed at safeguarding habitat and other values.
