Take the bus for free on Saturday

BC Transit will mark Earth Day in the West Kootenay on Saturday by making its buses free for all.

The company says the annual occasion encourages people to make choices that reduce greenhouse gases and taking public transit is one way to do that.

No fees will be charged on either fixed routes or handyDART services within the West Kootenay transit system.

BC Transit says it also has a goal of running a fully electric fleet by 2040.

Measles cases reported in B.C. this year top 100
