Nelson Police say a suspicious package that resulted in the closure of the police station and blocking off of the 600 block of Stanley Street on Sunday turned out not to be hazardous.
They didn’t say what it was, but an RCMP explosives unit destroyed the package using a specialized robot “out of an abundance of caution.”
Police said early Sunday two people left the package in their parking lot.
