Nelson safety concerns sparks visit by deputy premier

Provincial government officials will be in Nelson tomorrow answering questions around public safety as well as to attend the police board annual general meeting.  

Deputy Premier and Minister of Public Safety Mike Farnworth will be accompanied by the Attorney General Niki Sharma will be taking media questions highlighting residential concerns in Nelson at the constituency office of MLA Brittny Anderson on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.  

Public Affairs Officer Chris Donnelly said in a phone call Farnworth and Sharma plan on being in Nelson one day to address questions and concerns. 

Safety concerns have been accumulating in Nelson around increased activity relating to criminal activity and drug use at Interior Health’s clubhouse at 818 Vernon Street.
