Gastrointestinal outbreak at Mountain Lake grows

The gastrointestinal outbreak at Mountain Lake Seniors Community in Nelson has grown to 43 cases.

Interior Health says 24 cases are residents of the long-term care facility and 19 are staff. That’s up from 16 resident cases last week.

The outbreak began May 22. It’s the only one at a West Kootenay facility at the moment, although there have been others recently at Jubilee Manor in Nelson as well as at facilities in Trail and Creston.
