A public safety warning from RCMP after a cougar attack on a pet around the 9-mile area of the North Shore on the West Arm.
Cpl Michael Stefani at the Nelson detachment says one their officers got a call from Granger Road at just after two o’clock this morning.
Stefani says they’ll be liaising with the conservation officer today.
He says while cougar sightings aren’t rare in the rural area it is unusual for the wild animal to come so close to a home and not be alarmed by the presence of a human.
