Nelson ball park fence threatens toboggan run

Residents near Nelson’s Queen Elizabeth baseball park are alarmed by upgrades there because it could wreck winter recreation for families.
A local resident told us they noticed a fence being built along the first baseline in the diamond. She said the fence will prevent anyone from tobogganing there which is a shame because it’s a super safe and fun place to do it.
The toboggan run – located near Hume and L.V Rogers schools – has been there for decades.
She adds they’ve started an online petition and Facebook page and have been walking around the neighborhood collecting signatures.
They’d like the fencing plans changed so the kids can still enjoy the slope in winter.
