Nelson mayor under fire for "lack of co-operation" at table

In this last week of local election campaigning we’re hearing more criticism about the lack of co-operation and inclusion around the Nelson council table.

At Monday night’s all candidates forum council candidate Michael Dailly was among those alluding to mayor John Dooley not ensuring all voices at the table are being heard.

Both mayoral challengers Deb Kozak and Pat Severyn have also pointed a finger at a lack of team ethic on council.

Meanwhile poverty and affordable housing were other key themes at the forum.

Council candidate Janice Morrison says if you’re going to advocate to Victoria for help you need your ducks in a row.

She was not the only candidate pushing job creation as key to addressing poverty.
