Outside influences played role in Nelson mayoral election:Dooley

The outgoing mayor of Nelson figures the actions of the Sensible BC marijuana legalization group had a role in the outcome of the local election.

John Dooley was beaten by Deb Kozak and thinks this election saw too much emphasis put on non-municipal issues – in particular the marijuana debate.

Sensible BC endorsed Kozak and ran a phone campaign the day before the election.

She won by almost 300 votes.
