Road closure: Part of Vernon Street closed June 5 and 6

The Civic Centre Revitalization Project has begun and residents can expect to see a change in traffic conditions throughout the length of the project, from the 700 to 800 block of Vernon Street.

West bound Vernon Street traffic will be closed throughout Wednesday June 5th and Thurs June 6th to allow for the delivery of scaffolding.

The project is planned for several months, June to November 2024, and will include traffic alterations during this time.

During business hours, traffic flow may be occasionally impacted by contractors and deliveries, but this will continue as normal on most days.

To accommodate construction crews, equipment and transit buses, parking stalls & sidewalk access have been temporarily reduced in these two blocks.

Nelson City Council is asking everyone to respect all traffic and parking signage.
