House fire near 5 Mile in Nelson

A house has sustained serious damage following a fire on Highway 3, near 5 Mile, in Nelson.

Fire fighters were on the scene before 3pm to the structure well alight, with traffic on the highway being limited to single alternating lane.

At 7:15pm Sunday evening, June 7, there was still single lane alternating traffic on Highway 3 at 5 Mile, as fire crews continue their clean up.
