BC Highway Patrol seeks witnesses to fatal collision in Slocan Valley

BC Highway Patrol is looking to speak with a witness who arrived at the scene of a collision on Highway 6 near Hills, that claimed the lives of a family of four from Nelson.

On Friday, July 5, at about 5:38 pm there was a motor vehicle collision on Highway 6 in the area of Hills, north of New Denver.

The collision took place south of Crown road on Highway 6 and involved a tractor trailer hauling dimensional lumber which was travelling south bound and a Ford Maverick hauling a camping trailer which was travelling north bound.

BC Highway Patrol Nelson are seeking any possible witnesses to the collision.

Anyone that may have seen the collision take place, arrived shortly after the collision, or who rendered assistance to the individuals involved.

Specifically, a couple in their mid to late thirties were travelling northbound in a dark coloured SUV at the time of the collision and may have witnessed the collision as it unfolded.

Police are seeking the identity of this couple in order to speak with them regarding what they may have witnessed.

BC Highway Patrol is asking for anyone who may have witnessed this crash, or who may have dashcam video to contact BCHP Nelson at 250-354-5180 and refer to file number 2024-2914.
