Evacuation Alerts rescinded for Slocan Lake Complex Wildfires

Evacuation Alerts for residents impacted by the Komonko Creek wildfire (formerly known as the Aylwin Creek wildfire), Ponderosa, portions of Mulvey Creek and Nemo Creek Wildfires have been rescinded.

Komonko Creek Wildfire Alert Rescinded

The area includes 124 properties and 54 parcel identifiers (PIDs) in Electoral Area H north of the Village of Slocan, along the Highway 6 corridor, including Red Mountain Road to the Village of Silverton.

The majority of the area was on Evacuation Order starting July 20 through August 12 when the Evacuation Order was downgraded to an Evacuation

As of August 22, BCWS has categorized the Komonko Creek wildfire as “Being Held”.

Ponderosa and Mulvey Creek Wildfire Alerts Rescinded

The Evacuation Alert rescind area includes 129 properties and 48 parcel identifiers (PIDs) in Electoral Area H on the east side of Highway 6, from Kennedy Road to north of the Village of Slocan and a portion of properties on the west side of Slocan River. See the attachment for addresses and map.

Residents on the west side of Slocan West Road as it turns into Little Slocan Road will remain on Evacuation Alert due to the impact of the Mulvey Creek wildfire. There are still 37 addresses and 39 PIDs on Evacuation Alert, plus another three PIDs on Evacuation Order due to the Mulvey Creek wildfire.

The majority of the area was on Evacuation Order starting July 28 through August 12 when the Evacuation Order was downgraded to an Evacuation Alert.

As of August 22, BCWS has categorized the Ponderosa wildfire as “Being Held”.

Nemo Creek Wildfire Alert Rescinded

The area includes one address and 18 parcel identifiers (PIDs) along the west shore on the northern end of Slocan Lake in Electoral Area H. This area was on Evacuation Order starting July 19 through August 12 when the Evacuation Order was downgraded to an Evacuation Alert. See attachment for addresses and map.
