Electronic scanners to be introduced by Elections BC for provincial vote

We should be seeing results sooner when provincial votes are tallied.

Elections B-C is introducing electronic scanners to record your ballot in time for the October 19th provincial election.

They’re similar to those already used in many municipal elections.

Officials say they won’t replace paper ballots…..yours will still be saved and used for recounts, if required.

They hope the new system will ensure that 98 per cent of all ballots will be counted on election night.
