It was doubtful for a while but the Greater Trail region is back on board with having an independent economic development organisation.
RDKB taxpayers along with a chunk of funding from the Columbia Basin Trust will keep the Lower Columbia Community Development Team going for another three years.
Economic Development Officer Terry van Horn sees it as a vote of confidence for regional thinking on attracting new businesses and needed professionals.
The service was not funded the last year.

The regional communities except Trail didn’t think it was worth the money.
But it’s now being funded again – and will have a $250,000 annual budget to cover things including two full-time staff, office operations, travel and marketing.
