BC Hydro is going to ruin a great boating haven on the Arrow Lakes.
So says Area K Director Paul Peterson with news that BC Hydro plans to remove a new breakwater the crown corporation put in recently at Edgewood.
It’s part of a new boat ramp that was damaged by a wash away from a nearby creek.
Peterson says the community was never happy with the location for the facility and wanted it put elsewhere.
Removal of the breakwater will leave boaters unprotected from the wind.
BC Hydro says it must go for public safety reasons and they will host an information session on future options December 15th.
