BC Hydro assures boaters re Arrow Lake breakwater

BC Hydro will be removing the new southern floating breakwater at Edgewood on the Lower Arrow Lake and there is no other feasible place for it to go.

Local spokesperson Mary Anne Coules is speaking amid community frustration.

Many didn’t want the new breakwater located where it is and now wash-out from a nearby creek is undermining it , so it has to be removed.

But that means there’ll be no wind protection for boaters.

Coules says hydro is eager to build something that works.

They will host a public info session in Edgewood next week .
