Kozak looks to Queen City's future

Expect some re-designs to Nelson’s ambitious Hall Street Corridor project.

That was one of the key messages from new mayor Deb Kozak in her inaugural address Monday night.

Concerns have been raised around traffic flow and parking space loss.

In promising a city that is affordable for all families Kozak says she’s already spoken to senior staff about reducing water and sewer rates by spreading upgrades over a longer time frame.

She also spoke of the Queen City becoming a Centre of Excellence for green thinking, science and technology, hospice and health care.

As expected Kozak was elected the city’s rep to the RDCK.
