Black Jack Ski Club expands

The Black Jack Ski Club has welcomed a much needed $20,000 donation by the Nelson & District Credit Union (NDCU) to help improve the club’s trailhead facilities and services.

“Nelson & District Credit Union has a long history with the Black Jack Ski Club, supporting many of its expansion and programming efforts over the years,” said Tom Murray, CEO of Nelson & District Credit Union (NDCU).

“BJSC is a major contributor to the Rossland economy and community all winter and in summer too. Their efforts make it easier for all of us to get outside to recreate and explore. Our credit union was pleased to support this important expansion effort.”

Dave Gibson, Board President of the Black Jack Ski Club says the fund will go towards expanding the trailhead, adding a new day lodge, building a van-trailer port, and making the area more accessible for everyone.

“With these improvements, we will enhance the experience of our athletes, coaches, volunteers, and community members.”

The BJSC offers 50 km of expertly groomed X-country ski trails, some of which are lit for nighttime skiing, along with various facilities at the trailhead and along the trails.
