New RDCK chair

The new chair of the Regional District of Central Kootenay is Nakusp mayor Karen Hamling.

She’s been involved in municipal politics for almost twenty years.

She points to the fact that she’s helped secure $8 million in funding over the past decade as a signal she has a good working relationship with the Province and Feds.

Hamling received more votes among the RDCK directors than Garry Jackman who was also nominated.
